SIH Virtual Care and eVisits

SIH provides Virtual Care options that enable you to connect with a doctor or a nurse through your smartphone, tablet or computer for minor injuries or illnesses. If your usual healthcare provider is unavailable or you don't have one, you can conveniently schedule a virtual care visit from your home or workplace. These virtual care visits can take the place of some in-person clinic appointments, or Urgent Care visits, saving you the need to travel or wait for an available appointment. 

Virtual care visits are intended for non-urgent medical issues. As always, for urgent needs, please call your clinic or visit an SIH Urgent Care or Walk-In Clinic. In case of medical emergency, call 911 right away.

On-Demand Video Visits

An On-Demand Video Visit through the MyChart app allows patients to see a next-available SIH provider via an online video session, functioning similarly to a virtual Walk-in Clinic visit. This service provides a convenient option for a wide range of many health conditions from the comfort of your home.

Key features of On-Demand Video Visits

  • Available Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (patients must be in line by 4:15 p.m.).
  • Accessible via smartphone, tablet or computer.
  • Receive a diagnosis, personalized care plan and prescription if needed.
  • Additional testing, such as urinalysis, may require a visit to an SIH clinic.

How On-Demand Video Visits Work:

Step 1: Schedule

Click the link above and follow the prompts to answer a few quick questions and to get in line for the next available provider.

Step 2: Prepare

Set up your MyChart account if you don't already have one. Complete the MyChart eCheck-in process by providing basic details about your symptoms, insurance and contact information. 

Step 3: Connect

Find a quiet, well-lit area where you can comfortably participate in your on-demand video visit. Log in to MyChart and follow the on-screen instructions to start your session.

E-Visits

What is an E-Visit?

An E-Visit is an electronic visit with an SIH Medical Group provider. The patient answers a series of online questions through a secure form in MyChart. The information is reviewed by a provider and responded to within 24 to 48 hours. Since an E-Visit is possible through MyChart, the provider has access to your medical information. 

How does it work?

An E-Visit is not a video visit; there is no live visual or verbal communication between the patient and the provider. All communication is conducted through MyChart. If the provider determines a prescription is needed for your condition, it will be sent directly to your pharmacy, and you will be notified via a MyChart message. If the provider believes an in-person visit would be a better way to treat your condition, he/she will send a message asking you to come to the office in person. 

What condition are appropriate for an E-Visit? 

  • Cold and flu
  • Cough
  • Diarrhea/upset stomach
  • Urinary discomfort
  • Sinus problems
  • Heartburn
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Back pain

Who is not eligible for an E-Visit

  • Children under one year old.
  • Patients who have not been seen by their primary care provider in more than 12 months. 
  • Patients who are not activated in MyChart.

What is the cost of an E-Visit?

Your insurance will be billed for estimated total charges of $32 per visit. Should your insurance deny for any reason; you will be financially responsible for estimated total charges of $32.

In the event messaging activity with a Provider extends beyond the initial request, the appropriate charges will be applied based on the 7-day activity rules per CMS and your patient responsibility may increase.
