Job Shadowing

• High school students age 16+ (parent permission required for students younger than age 18)
• College students
• Students applying to graduate school or training program
• Employees & their families
• Volunteers
• Individuals interested in a second career

To get started, you must complete the Job Shadow Application. If you have identified and talked with a specific SIH employee that you'd like to observe, please specify that in your application. For individuals who are interested in a particular career, but don't have a specific SIH employee in mind - we can help create a job shadow opportunity for you.

• Flu vaccination if rotating between September 1 - March 31
• Annual two-step TB skin test or QuantiFERON-TB Gold blood test
• Headshot photo of yourself with a blank wall background
• Resume or CV (optional)
• Proof of health insurance

Our preference is to have individuals submit a completed application which includes documentation of COVID-19 vaccination, flu vaccination (September 1 - March 31), and annual TB test. It is best to wait until you have collected this documentation prior to starting the application. If you are unable to submit this documentation during the application, you can email them to students@sih.net. All requirements must be met prior to your job shadow experience.

A member of our SIH team will be emailing you to finalize your application and help coordinate your job shadowing experience. All students must be processed through our human resources department and have their SIH Job Shadowing Badge prior to starting their experience.

Job shadowing at SIH is a highly sought-after experience because of our exceptional team members & commitment to our community. Priority is given to current employees, local residents & students from our southern Illinois region. We want to support our local students, schools, and training programs and hope to keep the best students from our region working here in southern Illinois.
