SIH Foundation Special Events

At the SIH Foundation, we host Special Events throughout the year to raise funds for the SIH Patient & Community Support Funds and to assist in the growth and development of our hospitals and the SIH Cancer Institute. Each Special Event is unique, well planned, and a great time for all who attend!

Springtime brings the SIH Gala, a prestigious event where guests enjoy an evening of dinner, dancing, and a mobile bidding auction. Each year’s Gala is a wonderful evening of camaraderie for a cause, and we are proud to present this event to raise awareness and funds for the projects that support the SIH mission.

Summertime brings the Slice of Life Golf Tournament. This tournament is always a crowd pleaser and has become a favorite here in Southern Illinois. Each team of 5 is matched with a Gateway PGA Pro, making this event unique from other area golf tournaments. The day is filled with golf on a beautiful course, great food, beverages, and prizes. This prestigious event is chance to give back while enjoying a fun day of golf in beautiful Southern Illinois.

When Fall comes around, we begin to celebrate giving back through the SIU Salukis Blackout Cancer games and our partnership with SIU Saluki Athletics. These sporting events include Football and both Men’s and Women’s Basketball games and benefit the Coach Kill Cancer Fund.

Fans are given the opportunity to participate in an online auction for special Under Armor game jerseys. The winners can have the name of a loved one who has survived cancer or in remembrance of a loved one who has passed away from cancer placed on the back of a player’s jersey. SIU players then wear these black jerseys on game day. After the game, jersey winners are given an opportunity to meet the player and take pictures.

These games are a great way for fans young and old to give back to the SIH Foundation and celebrate their loved ones.
