Murphysboro Apple Festival Comes to SIH St. Joseph Memorial Hosptial

SIH takes pride in being part of the communities we serve. In Murphysboro, that means the annual Apple Festival is big deal. The main window at SIH St. Joseph Memorial Hospital is now decorated for the festivities. 

The 73rd Annual Murphysboro Apple Festival runs Sept. 11-14, 2024. This year's theme is "In Our Apple Era." The hospital put a spin on that with the sign "We are Apple-solutely in our Healthcare Era."

Staff at SIH St. Joseph Memorial Hospital are wearing special t-shirts this week to mark the festival's return. Fun events are also planned for staff and patients. Many staff members are planning to take part in this year's Apple Festival Parade!  

For many years the Murphysboro High School Crimson Express have come to the hospital to help put a smile on patient faces. The band performed a series of songs outside the hospital on Wednesday. The marching band has been around for 35 years now. Band Director Nicholas Williams noted some alumni were in the crowd watching the performance.
